Celebrating reading
At our school, we believe in celebrating reading every day and encouraging a love of books from the earliest years. We are proud to reward children who meet our standard of reading at least five times per week, with exciting opportunities.
If your child is in EYFS or Key Stage 1, they can enter a draw to take home our Tonie boxes, which bring stories to life with fun audio experiences.
For Key Stage 2 pupils, those who meet the reading goal can win a token to use in our unique book vending machine, allowing them to choose a brand-new book to take home and enjoy.
But our passion for reading doesn’t stop inside the school building! We have specially designed reading sheds on both our playgrounds, giving children a cosy, quiet space to curl up with a book during playtime. These sheds provide a comfortable spot for children to relax with their friends, sharing stories and enjoying some quiet time outdoors while continuing to develop their love for reading.
By creating these fun and inviting reading opportunities, both inside and outside, we hope to inspire your child to become a lifelong reader and help them discover the joy that books can bring! Keep encouraging your child to meet their reading goals, and celebrate their achievements together.
