D&T – Electrical and Digital
In Electrical and Digital units, children explore the fascinating world of electronics and digital technologies, learning how these tools are integrated into designing and creating innovative products. They develop a solid foundation in the technical skills required to work with electric circuits, understanding how to connect components like switches, bulbs, and motors to power and control their creations. This hands-on experience helps them grasp the fundamental principles of electricity and circuit design.
Beyond working with circuits, pupils also gain valuable knowledge in programming and coding, allowing them to bring their designs to life by adding interactive and automated features. They learn to programme devices, using software to control inputs and outputs, such as sensors and lights, to make their products more functional and dynamic. Through these activities, children not only enhance their technical understanding but also foster problem-solving skills and creativity, preparing them to tackle real-world challenges in the ever-evolving field of technology.
