Staff will help you develop the study skills you need in order to memorize, retain and recall this information.

Once you are confident you can recall this syllabus tell your teacher and they will give you your undergraduate test.

Once you have passed you will receive a badge and be known as a History Graduate!

Clive Sullivan

A Welsh sportsman who was ‘adopted’ by Hull and became rugby’s first black captain.

Born: 9th April 1943, Cardiff, Wales

Died: 8th October 1985, aged 42 years, Hull, England

Family: Married Rosalyn. Their son Anthony was born in 1968.

William Wilberforce

A deeply religious English politician who was most famous for being a key campaigner for the abolition of slavery.

Born: 24th August 1759, at 25 High Street, Hull (now known as Wilberforce House)

Died: 29th July 1833, aged 74 years, London (buried in Westminster Abbey)

Family:  Married Barbara Spooner in 1797. The couple had a very happy marriage and six children together.

Aviator

Amy Johnson

An aviator from Hull who was the first female pilot to fly alone from Britain to Australia.

Born: 1st July 1903, Hull

Died: 5th January 1941, London
