KS1: Reading canopy area
In Key Stage 1, we’ve created a special reading canopy area designed to make reading a magical experience for the children. Underneath this cosy and inviting canopy, children can dive into a variety of wonderful books, each carefully chosen to engage and inspire young readers. The area also includes story baskets filled with props and objects related to the stories, allowing children to interact with the stories in a hands-on way.
Additionally, we have story stones, which are a fantastic resource for sparking children’s imaginations. These stones have pictures or symbols on them that children can use to create their own stories, either on their own or with friends. By using the story baskets and story stones, children not only enjoy reading, but they also have the chance to become storytellers themselves, building creativity and confidence. This canopy area helps to make reading a fun and immersive experience for our Key Stage 1 pupils, encouraging a lifelong love for stories.
