Nursery: Understanding the world!
In the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), pupils learn about “Understanding the World” by exploring the environment around them, discovering how things work, and learning about people, places, and cultures. Through activities like nature walks, playing with different materials, and discussing family traditions, children begin to make sense of their world. They are encouraged to ask questions, observe changes, and talk about their experiences, which helps them develop curiosity, knowledge, and an understanding of the diverse world they live in.
