Year 4: Observe and analyse trends & patterns

Overall Objective: To develop the ability to observe and analyse trends or patterns in data, events, or situations by making meaningful comparisons and understanding the relationship between cause and consequence. Pupils will learn how to identify recurring themes or changes over time and explain why they occur, as well as how one event may lead to specific outcomes.

Learning Outcome: Pupils will be able to effectively explain trends or patterns they observe, either by comparing different sets of data or by identifying cause-and-effect relationships. By the end of the lesson, pupils will demonstrate the ability to interpret data or events, drawing conclusions on what the trends indicate, and be able to explain their reasoning by identifying key causes and their resulting consequences.
