Year 6 – Sculpture inspired by Taslim Martin and Nick Park
During the Summer term, the children in Year 6 took inspiration from the portrait sculpture work of Taslim Martin to explore how to create a portrait in clay. The children deepened their knowledge of form and texture to create depth and represent different features. The children also appraised the work of the animator Nick Park to understand how a sculptor can communicate an idea and emotion through their forms. The pupils then created their own pieces of artwork that represented characters in the school production – The Wizard of Oz.
