Jessica Ennis-Hill was born in Sheffield on 28th January 1986. During the school holidays, Jessica and her sister would attend local athletics camps. At the age of 13, at one of those camps, she was introduced to Toni Minichiello, who became her coach. Shortly after her first coaching session with Toni, Jessica joined the City of Sheffield Athletics Club, whom she represented until her retirement in 2016.

2009 –  Jessica won the heptathlon gold medal at the World Championships, held in Italy. Jessica won the event with a personal best score of 6,587 points, including an 800 metres personal best.

2010 – Jessica won the heptathlon gold medal at the 2010 European Championships with a personal best and European Championship Record score of 6,823 points, eight points short of Denise Lewis’s British and Commonwealth Records.

2012- Won a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics in the heptathlon with a new personal best of 6955 points.

2013 – Awarded a CBE for her services to the Great Britain team in the 2012 London Olympics.

2016 – Achieved silver at the Rio de Janeiro games.

2017 – Awarded a DBE (Dame) for her services to athletics.
